HBCU Associations

HBCU Faculty Development Network

The Network promotes effective teaching and student learning through a variety of collaborative activities that focus on faculty enhancement.

National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO)

NAFEO champions the interests of HBCUs through the executive, legislative, regulatory and judicial branches of federal and state governments. ( Note: "NAFEO Institutions" includes all of the officially designated HBCUs plus other predominantly Black colleges and universities.)

Tom Joyner Foundation

The Tom Joyner Foundation only does one thing…it helps students continue their education at Black colleges. All too often a student will get into college, then encounter financial difficulties that will force them to drop out. The Foundation provides money directly to the Historical Black Colleges and universities (HBCUs) for the purpose of helping these students complete their education.

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF)

The Fund was established in 1987 to carry on Justice Marshall's legacy of equal access to higher education by supporting exceptional merit scholars attending America's public Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Today, 47 schools are members of the TMCF, including many of the nation's largest and most prestigious institutions of higher education. (Note: the Fund recently changed its name from the "Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund".)

United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation (UNCFSP)

With a portfolio of more than $90 million in federal programs, the mission of UNCFSP is to “organize and deliver educational support services” such as capacity building, technical assistance and workforce development programs to Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) of higher education.
