Alabama A&M University (AL) "The History of Black Economic Empowerment" is the theme of Alabama A&M University's celebration of Black History Month. Its array of events includes: book fairs, lectures, movies, and choral performances.
   
Benedict College (SC) Benedict College will feature a full calendar of events including: assemblies, pre-law conference, worship services, community forums, and teleconferences.
   
Central State University (OH) Central State celebrates our pride, our legacy, and our heritage with events are sponsored in part by the Offices of Student Leadership and Development, Transportation, Admission, Humanities, and The Black Oak Project.
   
Coppin State University (MD) Coppin State has scheduled a month-long set of activities, beginning with a concert by the Singing Sons of Abraham on February 6th.
   
Dillard University (LA) Dillard University’s Will W. Alexander Library is proud to present our 1st Annual Black History Month
Celebration: “Discovering Our Past, Embracing Our Future.” The WWA Library will host an activity once a week during the month of February. These activities will include a book signing, a black history movie night featuring “Sankofa”; a spoken word session, and the launch of our very own Bleu Devil Book Club.
   
Elizabeth City State University (NC) Elizabeth City State University celebrates Black History Month with a wide range of events, including: an historical documentary, symposia, and panel discussions.
   
Fisk University (TN) Fisk's month-long celebration will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Nashville sit-ins and the 100 anniversary of the National Urban League with "50 Years Later: A Charge for a New Generation"
   
Fayetteville State University (NC) FSU is one of many community stakeholders co-sponsoring the inaugural exhibit of the Arts Council's Friends of African and African American Art, ART OF THE MASTERS: A Survey of African-American Images, 1980-2000.  This exhibit opened at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York City and will travel to Fayetteville (the only stop in the Southeast) in January 2010, then move on to Chicago.
   
Florida A&M University (FL) The Second Annual State of the Black Student Summit will be held Friday, Feb. 23, in Gaither Gymnasium from 6 to 9 p.m. Coinciding with the University's celebration of Black History Month, panelists, students and surrounding communities will gather to discuss the circumstances that influence the status of the black student in America.
   
Gadsden State Community College (AL) A number of activities are planned at Gadsden State Community College in connection with the annual observance of Black History Month. The events are free and the public is invited to attend.
   
Grambling State University (LA) Grambling is celebrating Black History Month with a wide range of events and activities, including: seminars, symposia, banquets, concerts, dance, panel discussions, and convocations
   
Hampton University (VA)Hampton University is having several events on campus to commemorate Black History Month throughout February. The month’s theme is “The Hampton Renaissance.” All events are free and open to the public. For more information contact the HU Office of Student Activities at (757) 727-5691.
   
Kentucky State University (KY) Kentucky State University will celebrate African American heritage and culture in February with a number of events, including: seminars, concerts, and plays.
   
North Carolina Central University (NC) North Carolina Central University will celebrate Black History Month in its Centennial Year with a series of events that are free and open to the public. The keynote speaker is Glenn Harris, associate professor, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, who will address this year’s theme, “The History of Black Economic Empowerment.” The lecture is scheduled for Monday, February 15, at 3 p.m. in the H.M. Michaux, Jr. School of Education Auditorium.
   
Southern University at New Orleans (LA) Themed “The History of Black Economic Empowerment”, SUNO's celebrations of Black History Month provide an opportunity to reflect on the financial progress of Black America in the 21st century. All events are free and open to the public.
   
Southern University at Shreveport (LA) Black History Month at SUSLA is set to be a month full of events that features thoughtful debate, pride in past African-American culture, enhancing the lives of children of all ages and speeches from some of today’s most engaging and well known speakers.
   
St. Philip's College (TX) The St. Philip’s College Black History Month observance is set and is a tribute to African-American culture and all who enjoy it.
   
Tennessee State University (TN) Tennessee State University will officially kick off its Black History Month celebration with an impressive line-up of speakers and the 12th Annual Africana Studies Conference.
   
Texas Southern University (TX) Texas Southern University has released an exciting line up of events to celebrate in observance of Black History Month. TSU’s list includes everything from forums and seminars to job testing and entertainment.
   
Tuskegee University (AL) Several lectures focusing on slavery, historical figures, bioethics and more will be part of a series held at the Tuskegee University National Center for Bioethics in Research and Health Care through the month of February, Black History Month. The twice-weekly series is sponsored by the Department of History and Political Science and Tuskegee University Archives in partnership with the Bioethics Center, National Park Service and Student Government Association.
   
Winston-Salem State University (NC)Lectures by noted clergy, authors and educators, theatrical performances and concerts and film screenings highlight the month-long schedule of Black History Month activities at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) Feb. 1 through 28.
   
Xavier University of Louisiana (LA) A number of activities have been scheduled for students during the February 2010 Black History Month celebration at Xavier University of Louisiana, including presentations, panel discussions, and dance performances.
